Water.
It could be the condensation on your cocktail glass or the tons of water flowing over Niagara Falls. It could be ice crystals on your kitchen window or a calving Alaskan glacier. It could be the steam escaping the teapot on your stove or Yellowstone's Old Faithful. Look around and try to record what you see.
Rules:
You must be the photographer, and it must be taken this month. Use whatever camera you have with you at the time.
You may submit several images to get feedback, but by the deadline your submission must be clearly labelled for the voting poll.
Photo manipulation of contrast, brightness, color, sharpness and crop are allowed. "Chopping" something into the image is not allowed. HDR is not allowed. ( I suspect there will be an HDR assignment in the future. Save that technique for that assignment please)
Use of Smart phone apps are not allowed unless used for the standard manipulation listed above. No borders, filters etc. (Again, another assignment)
Deadline for submissions will be 11 PM EST May 30th.

I bought aN Olympus Point and shoot and now I have a tripod so I'm a real photographer. :D
These are all shots I took this morning of a water bottle with some water in it.
At one point I sprayed WD-40 in it to add a different effect.
I also added some blue colouring to add a different effect.
Some cropped and basic photoshop brightness and contrast adjustments as well as sharpness.
**If these are too big let me know and I will shrink them. I think they are best viewed as large as possible for the effect I want. **
**I have no idea how the hair got in the bottle. **

This is the part of the bottle that meets the neck. I like this one.

If that last one was in a whiskey bottle ad it would have a couple of those space alien/skulls 'subliminal' images in it...
:hurray: We're off to a pretty strong start this month. It looks like we might get quite a variety of perspectives with this subject.

It all came down to a coin flip. I had the choices for this month's subject narrowed down to either water or cutting boards. Kind of a tough break for you, I guess.

Spiderweb in my yard - shot this with my bellows and 50mm lens this morning. Some of it is blurred due to the lenses I shoot my macros with. It voids any automatic functions of the camera, and to focus I was kneeling down (in a soggy yard). You have to physically lean in / out of the subject until you can focus.

Hey Milton, just a suggestion, but be sure the family is OK w/their kiddo's picture getting put on the internet.
I am rabidly vigilant against my kids getting their pics on the net/web.

“The battle has opened gentlemen,” said Johnston decisively, “it is too late to change our dispositions.” Then, mounting his big thoroughbred Fire-eater, he added, “Tonight we will water our horses in the Tennessee River.”
Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston. Shiloh, TN. 1862.

Here is my submission for this month.
We have a pond on the property where I work and this shot was taken at 5:45am as the sun had just risen. It was a cold night, around 40 degrees and the pond water must have been considerably warmer as there was a fog hanging over it. This picture is JUST as it came from the camera, with MINOR sharpening done in PhotoShop.

Okay... I only had a couple shots this month that I thought would qualify for the topic and this is my first submission, so be gentle. This is an oft photographed location in Austin, Tx. We were visiting some good friends there and hiked up to the 'overlook' for some evening shots. Shot with a 7d with a Tokina 11-16 - 30 seconds at f8.0.
