My 80 y/o parents and I just returned to L.I. from a Southwest flight from Tampa. When we went through the TSA security checkpoint my mother was singled out and declared a "hit". This was after we went through their detection equipment. After watching these agents unprofessionally milling around and bantering amongst themselves I grew increasingly disgusted and was once again reminded of what a politically correct folly this whole thing has become. Mind you, my mother has recently had her second knee replacement and they had her standing on the yellow "footprint" marking with her hands in the air. They had her in this position for quite some time until I heard a female agent say they needed to "search her". Being a NYS Trooper and understanding the whole safety issue, I respectfully inquired to a TSA agent that was standing by what was going on. He said something about "gunpowder" or "fertilizer" detected on her. He also said it might be "hand cream or lotion and that is was probably nothing". My mother was eventually led into a room and searched.

My father, in a wheelchair, was also singled out. He had a small carry-on duffel bag that was taken from his lap. The bag was taken out of his presence and the contents were x-rayed and rummaged through. It was returned to him. We eventually were all on on way to the gate and thankfully we allowed ourselves plenty of time for our flight.

Upon return home my father realized that his plastic soap caddy in his shaving kit (located inside the duffel bag) was missing. Inside the soap caddy was his Army dog tags that he kept for the past almost 60 years. He always kept them with him and never went anywhere without them. There was nothing else contained in the soap caddy but the dog tags. NOTHING !

My father is heartbroken and PISSED! And so am I! When he called me this evening to tell me, he actually used the "f" word to describe his anger. I can count on one hand the times that I have ever heard him utter that word.

Wow is that low, I can't even imagine a reason for somebody takeing another persons dog tags. What possible reason could somebody have to do something like that. Incredible! So sorry for your dads sake :sadangel:

They were hired off welfare. Spreading misery is entertaining to them.

I would be on the phone reporting it and making sure you do everything possible to track down who might have taken them. That just disgusts me.

I would also call every news channel and let them know this story. Eventually we need to take back our country from big brother.

:iagree:

There's no possible valid reason for taking the tags.
The more these kinds of actions are brought into the light of embarrassment
the quicker it will be resolved.

If you do that I bet the story will get picked up and spread like wildfire. TSA agents by and large seem to be nothing but a bunch of worthless crooks.

I wouldn't count on help from the MSM, though.

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Ben Franklin.

And guess what? We are getting exactly what we deserve. It's our own fault for the PC bull crap with have allowed to reign over us for the past 30 years.

Stop electing tools and fools who will tell you what you want to hear.

This infuriates me. I have never flown on a commercial airliner, and at this point, I'd rather not. I would be sitting in a dark cell somewhere in the basement if I would have been in your shoes. They would have me locked away forever because of the things I would say to those low down dirty bastard TSA agents. What a crock of shit.

I've said quite a few things to get some attention. apparently loudly exclaiming, "Get your hands off my nuts" isn't something they want you to yell when they're checking out your boys. ****in' Newark TSAssholes!

Thanks friends, for your advice, support and kind words. I will send the link to this page to my parents. I think it will help my father to accept this criminally unnecessary loss. He is trying what he can to see if they can still be located. We all realize it will be futile. Nobody cares.

My parents are sentimental people. My father is taking this hard.

I bet they are too stupid to look on them, see his name, and try to look him up in the database to return them if they haven't thrown them out already.

I have never had my bag searched out of my direct line of sight.

I really hope his tags are returned.

That is his hope. He said all someone would have to do is place them in a mailbox and the Mil. database would eventually find them home. I told him not to hold his breath. The soap caddy is probably already in a landfill.

Thank you. He was sitting in a wheelchair at the end of the checkpoint and was unable to see what those goons were doing to his bag behind the machines.

I had a TSA agent once try to tell me I had to take off my necklace and put it in the basket
Don't some airports have hidden cameras in areas where bags are being searched?
