Modern Family star Sofia Vergara wanted to get a breast reduction

Actress Sofia Vergara says she wanted to have surgery to reduce the size of her breasts.

The Modern Family star said she begged her mother to allow her to have a breast reduction operation because she felt her 34DD cleavage made her look like a stripper.

But now the 38-year-old actress is known in Hollywood for her sexy figure and admits it has helped boost her career.

She said: 'I wanted surgery. I told my mum, "As soon as I'm older, please take these boobs away."

'She said, "Sofia, shut up. When you're 18, it will be different." I was like, "Why would I want these huge boobs? I'm a 34 DD. It's hard to dress. No matter what I wear, I look like a stripper." '

The Colombian-born star, who once dated Tom Cruise, said she gradually came to accept her voluptuous figure.

She admitted it had opened doors in Hollywood and helped her win the role of sexy housewife Gloria Delgado on the hit comedy series Modern Family.

The show won a Best Comedy Emmy last month, with Vergara joining the cast on stage to accept the award.

Vergara also revealed said she decided to dye her naturally blonde hair brunette to win over casting directors at auditions, because she didn't fit the picture of the majority of Latino women.

She added to Self magazine: 'I'm a natural blonde, but when I started acting, I would go to auditions, and they didn't know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent but I had blonde hair.

'The moment I dyed my hair dark, it was, "Oh, she's the hot Latin girl." I loved it … Being brunette toned me down a bit.'

But Vergara said she is happy to play a sexy Latina woman on television.

She said: 'For every 100 roles that come out for another actress, there are two that fit somebody like me.

'I mean, I cannot play a scientist. I know who I am. I know how I look. I know.'

THAT may BEE, BUT, that nurse that I followed outta the hospital this afternoon long about 2pm was a long curly black hair total KNOCKOUT slim, married of course.....she asked me how tall I was without thinking I said 6'5" and was tempted to tell her she was beautiful....should have but a moment lost is lost forever....her butt wiggled with a tiggle walking down the hallway....

I was age 30 or so, I"d tossed her on the bed and had AT it....
