We didn't do work for Neil personally, but other than him being a private-type person I never heard any negative comments about him.

All of the men and women I have met(Shuttle astronauts) have been nice, engaging folks.

John Young (whom I admire greatly) could wear you out if systems time ran long, but he was a real pro all the way.

Now, if you read the "The Right Stuff", Tom Wolfe describes him, presumably based on interviews with Chuck Yeager and a bunch of guys, as a pretty arrogant pilot. Having been a naval aviator during the Korean unpleasantness and later, a test pilot, some of his alleged arrogance is explicable.

I have known only one astronaut personally (2 missions on the Space Shuttle)...when we went to school together, he was one of the really classy guys I knew.

My oldest son went to space camp and "met" him last year. By that I mean he walked with a few other people down between the kids, but took time to shake a lot of hands. I'm not a fan of arrogant people though, regardless of any accomplishment.
