We have some snakes that are good and some not so good. Black snakes get a pass...water snakes get a head full of .22 bird shot

It's like this one that I killed yesterday in the truck. This was about 200yrds from a church preschool playground. It was ran over a total of 5 times by me.

We have some snakes that are good and some not so good. Black snakes get a pass...water snakes get a head full of .22 bird shot

Black snakes eat young copperheads I am told, so I always gave them a pass..


Where I use to live in southern Ohio years ago Timber Rattlers were almost extent, so they tried to re-populate the Forrest with them, and made it illegal to kill them..

There is a reason they were almost extent! :yesnod:

If just one snake could kill a child it would not be worth the risk of having them around if you ask me...

:yesnod: Yep, good rule to live by. I have a 5 foot Black snake that frequents the back yard. If we move I may take and relocate him with us.

When people say to sit still near a snake and not move they are full of shit. As Rodney Carrington says you go through two movements. "Oh shit, a snake!" the movements are a bowel movement and a physical movement.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's a copperhead. Funny, I was going to look for some today but couldn't find my machete to blaze a trail..

I was pushing some logs out of the way with a dozer years ago and had uncovered one, drove over it with the tracks, and did a turn on it ripping it apart.

Dang thing was full of little ones!

Chopped them up also and counted 9, then next day I went back to show a buddy and only 8 were there..

Guess one got away. :island14:
