Luxurious Broadcast Studio for SPEED F1 broadcast? NOT!

I would have thought that the studios used by the Speed announcer crew would have been pretty luxurious, filled with every high-tech gadget needed to do remote broadcasts. NOT! My setup for watching F1 races looks nicer than theirs! :ack:

I guess if you don't have to be on site and visibly on the air, any old back corner will do. Here's the 'studio', as posted by Bob Varsha. Looks like a dump, with cheap folding tables for desks. At least they got them Aeron chairs.

Well, seeing as they are basically narrating a video feed they have no control over, I think they do fairly well. Looks like it would be a bit drab though.

The SPEED guys don't actually go to the races do they? Just the pitlane guys? This is why you never see them walking around the venue, like the BBC and SKY guys.

Yup, they broadcast from Charlotte, with only Will Buxton traveling to the race locations. I was just surprised at the low-end plastic folding tables used by the off-site broadcast crew. Pretty low-class setup.

To be honest, it looks like every on-venue media box I've ever seen pictures of. Commentary boxes are notoriously nasty, even at brand new tracks. In Malaysia, Martin Brunde mentioned the rain water coming down the walls, lol.

I'm just amazed that Speed still doesn't send their team to races. No wonder Bernie doesn't like Speed and plays hardball with them.
