My Taurus 24/7 G2 9mm that I bought brand new in blued finish, but I decided to polish her a bit into a mirror like SS look . Top of the slide I left black ..

I scrubbed the blued finish off with scotch brite heavy duty scour pads then went to town with Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish, some by hand and some with the help of a Dremel with polishing pads .. then put a coat of wax on it .

Be sure to keep a light coat of wax or oil on it, tool steel will rust in a heartbeat.....trust me on this one.

I use this stuff on the damascus steel I forge.

Zaino would seal it for a longgg time. A kit will cost you nearly as much as that gun though :rofl:

Ziebart has a surface sealant called Diamond Coat (I think). Take your slide to them and they'd probably do it for practically nothing.

Before pic.
Only the sides is polished on the SS look, the top/nose / back part of the slide I kept blued .

I've thought about polishing the barrel on my Glock 26...don't think I could do the entire slide though.
