Have a server and about 8 workstations. My CA antivirus is apparently shit as I just spent a few hundred bucks getting an IT dude to take my server and get it cleaned up. Now he wants to sell me a server based antivirus that will handle all my machines. he's asking 185 for the server and 49 per station, plus 120 for labor for install on server and 45 per station.

Is this a deal? how hard could it be if I were to get my own shit and install myself?

I have an IT friend of mine who does this type of consulting. I suspect he'd do it on the side (remotely) for considerably less.

Have had good luck with AVG for my mail and file server for many years.
Without knowing the specifics of your setup, the business edition 2012
costs $250.00 for a 2 year subscription that would cover your server and
9 workstations.
It's not difficult to install and configure.

I need to find an Anti virus protection other than Norton, those jerks want their money even if you get a virus.

I'm sure his prices for the software are reasonable, but, no way would I pay for the install.

I use Symantec Endpoint Protection. Seems to work fine for the past 7 years. Its a DOD issued software and free to military. I put it on all my home computers. Its basically Nortons..
