Rest In Peace Dad

My father passed early this morning. He was 84 years old and has been in and out of the hospital for the last couple of months. Last week when I was on vacation, I talked to my mom and it sounded like things were deteriorating so yesterday I flew back to PA. Got to spend a couple of hours with him yesterday and he knew I was there even though he could barely speak and was having a lot of problems breathing. We left the hospital just before nine PM and planned to go back in this morning but about 4:45 the hospital called and said he was gone. At least he is no longer in pain

I'm so sorry to hear that. My Dad's 76 and he's fading steadily, too. Dementia With Lewy Bodies. It really sucks. :sadangel:

I know...lost both parents in 94 and still think about them everyday and want to talk to them !
You will never forget someone you love but everyday it does get a bit easier to deal with.

I suspect you're right. It seems to hit most of us after the funeral is over and the visits from friends/neighbors slow down.

My 93 y/o neighbor past away a few months ago. I spent quite a bit of time with his widow and it takes a while sometimes for the reality to kick in. I will pray for her and your family. :sadangel:
