Robin Gibb, Former Bee Gees Star, Gravely Ill - Yahoo! Movies (http://movies.yahoo.com/news/robin-gibb-former-bee-gees-star-gravely-ill-155906658.html)

Barry is going to lose the last of his brothers soon, I fear. I don't think Robin ever got over the loss of his twin.

Barry probably will, but he'll be miserable. The brothers were very close, and he'll take it the hardest. If he lives longer, he'll be broken-hearted the whole time I'll bet.

We could HOPE that he would take the losses, and transform them into more of the great music we've loved, but then again, we loved it because of the trio of voices.

They rode a wave that none of us ever will.......It is what it is......
I feel badly for him as a human with feelings, but they lived a charmed life while on this planet, so it's kinda tough for me to really think that they're cursed.

I disagree. I think they worked hard to overcome the dangerous of fame and succeed. It takes more than talent to be successful as long as they were. It takes hard work and dedication.

One of they died as a direct result of fame....

I never considered him to be part of the Bee Gees. To me it was always Barry, Robin and Maurice. That said, there are many non-famous people that have died from drugs. He just had the income to afford a lot more than the average person.

My mistake. The OP was about the family, not the group. :slap:

It is sad. Their collective righting talent has permeated many kinds of music. Brothers Gibb
wrote many songs others recorded.

true; but he was a heavy drug user. Victoria Principal broke off with him for that very reason.

Andy co-hosted the television music show, Solid Gold, from 1980 to 1982. Gibb was ultimately fired from both Dreamcoat and Solid Gold because of absenteeism caused by cocaine binges.

His romance with Principal also ended shortly thereafter when she gave him an ultimatum to choose between her or drugs.
