Hey Gang (reposting here for the non-FB fans),
Some of you may remember from the OTHER forum days we had this little thing called Bahama Jam, which was Michelle Teague's brainchild, for those of us who like to cruise to get away in the dead of winter (in the South...yeah...it's dead, alright). I have kind of taken the reins on this project over the last few years (and even skipped this year, sadly, due to other trips; however, I am planning another Bahama Jam...let's see this would be #7, on an 8-day Exotic Southern Caribbean itinerary, departing Miami, FL, on 5 Jan 2013, on the BRAND NEW Carnival Breeze (debuts this June 2012).
Saturday - Depart Miami, FL - 4pm
Sunday - Fun Day At Sea
Monday - Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos - 7am - 2pm
Tuesday - la Romana, Dominican Republic - 9am - 4pm
Wednesday - Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles - 1 - 11pm
Thursday - Aruba, Netherlands Antilles - 8am - 4pm
Friday - Fun Day At Sea
Saturday - Fun Day At Sea
Sunday - Return Miami, FL - 8am
The rates right now aren't great, because, well, this is a new ship and it is mostly pretty full, but here's the break-down, based on per person, single occupancy:
Interior - $1,618.00
Ocean View - $1,838.00
Balcony - $2,538.00 (starting price is for a Cove Balcony)
Suite - $4,598.00
For double occupancy, you would divide the rates by two for the most part, and add a little more for taxes. These are the early saver fares, which means if the rate goes down any time between now and the date of the cruise, you get that $$ back as ship-board credit...and if you don't use the total credit, you have a credit back to your charge card.
I checked for group bookings, and the agent said this ship didn't have enough vacancies to handle a group booking; however, booking online with Carnival's website is quite easy, and if you book and contact me with your reservation information, I can make it so we are sitting together or at adjacent tables during dinner.
Ken and Michelle taught me the value of the late dinner time, given that many days you are in port during the early dining time, or you get back on the ship shortly prior to, and are usually a little grungy, the later dining time can be preferred. Additionally, right now, for this cruise, the early dinner time is wait-listed.
Anyway, if you are interested and planning to come along, let me know. :seasix:
