Alcoa Bald Eagle Camera at Davenport Works (http://www.alcoa.com/locations/usa_davenport/en/info_page/eaglecam.asp)

Watch two Eagles attend too and feed three baby eagles.

On the middle of the page is a live streaming video of the eagles nest.

Click on the picture link at the bottom of the video to make the live feed full screen and its like watching the eagles on TV, but live!

It is SO cool to see these 2 eagles (Liberty and Justice) feed the babies fish, pigeons, and other small critters.

Yesterday they fed the eaglets a small turtle! A night its a little harder to see them. But day time it is AWESOME!

I saw a bald eagle soaring about 2 weeks ago. First thought I was seeing an airplane. Was an eagle at about half the distance I thought the plane was. Huge bird.

On our internal intranet Alcoa has been showing the cams and encouraging the employees to catch a view. I followed it last year and it was cool. I remember seeing fish bones laying in the nest with the little eaglets. I've been out to our Davenport plant a couple of times and had hoped to catch a glimpse of the nest in the trees. That would be real cool.

A little info on these eagles:

Live Bald Eagle Nest Cam - Decorah, Iowa.
This is a live feed of a wild mating pair of bald eagles. The male(slightly smaller in size) and female both help in incubation of the eggs and will also both provide food for the eaglets after they hatch. The camera was set up and is maintained by the Raptor Resource Project, a non-profit organization for the preservation of falcons, eagles, ospreys, hawks, and owls.

About this nest - The nest is about 6ft long/wide and about 6ft deep. It is located about 80ft up in a cottonwood tree. The nest weighs almost a ton.

History/Timeline - The pair has been observed since the winter of 2007/2008, but the fall of 2009 was the first time they could be viewed online.

This site also provides real-time cams of hummingbirds and owlets being hatched and raised.

Thanks for the info.

We (715 kids and their teachers and the principals and me) have been watching the Decorah eagles again this year at school.

Momma is fluffing the nest to keep the babies warm tonight. 32 degrees tonight, 36 tomorrow night, then down to 26. Chill factor has to be a lot worse with the wind that high up in a tree. They're some dedicated parents. :hurray:

Shannon, you should watch the hummingbird cam when it gets up. It sometimes has lots of drama. Last year a lizard tried to raid the hummingbird eggs, forcing momma to eventually destroy the eggs and abandon the nest. The producers of the cam show considered shutting it down because it might have been too traumatic for the school kids watching.

It's amazing to me that the site has millions of viewers.

Can you send it when it's up? I love the hummingbirds in our yard. I would love to see it.

Sure will. BTW, go to the link I posted in this thread, and you can click on an older hummingbird cam. Hummingbirds are a lot more active than eagles and not ferocious fighters, so it can get interesting.
