Nothing big, only a few hundred dollars.
But it's a start in the right direction.

Was referred by a lady who's spent a few thousand dollars here.
She works for the city as a building engineer.

After checking her out on the interweb(I check all my customers) I found out she worked for the city.
I made sure to mention to her how I am looking for commercial accounts and a government account is what I'm looking for in particular.

After her last order I offered to deliver her pictures and also hang them for her at no charge.

Friday last week I received a call from the city of Whitby saying I was referred highly by Susan B.
They just dropped off the 3 photos and I will have them done in a few days.

Looking forward to reaching baller status again.

That's what everyone thinks until they try and it looks like shit!
Frame corners are attached through the bottom now so you don't see any brads on the sides and have to fill them.

Equipments not cheap either.

What's wrong with charging someone 25x. :bilmem:
I'm no where near what most of the robbers out there charge.

That can get pricey.

It can if you go to the wrong place.
I am roughly 50% less then Michaels on their 60% off sale.
Roughly 35-50% less then a normal gallery or custom framer.

So, for example, how much do you charge for a basic hockey jersey framing ?

$200 and up.

A standard sized diploma with 2 mats and 1 1/4" wide black wood frame $55.

She's an amazing customer though. She has an idea what she wants but listens to my professional opinions on colours and style.
Really the perfect customer.

It's funny when I was checking out who she was I found a pdf with her as well as others salaries in the city she works for.
Chick makes good money.
In the $130k range salary.

For some reason I wouldn't expect the same level of quality from Michaels as I would an independent framing place.

HARD science, engineering, business, finance, economics....THAT is worth 100 bux....

under water basket weaving is free.....

and the quality of the frame should match the value of the degree....eh??

It's the opposite. At least here it is.
Michael's Canada has the most advanced equipment and staff working at their main assembly plant just west of Toronto.
It's white glove treatment by CPFA's(certified picture framers association).
Their quality and attention to detail and picking the right product for the piece is second to none.
Unfortunately this also put's their pricing in the upper region of framing.

You have to read the customer. That kid who put all his effort in to that Arts degree is just as proud as the lawyer or doctor.

The people you can rake over the coals(which I do not) are collectors of sports memorabilia or antique pieces like maps and writings.

I framed this map from the early 1900's and byt the time I was done it cost the guy almost $1500. It is only 32x 28.

The glass alone is Museum Glass that was an additional $400.

This hockey stick was a pretty penny also. Not as much as I should of charged but he is a very good customer so he gets a relaxed price.
