Wifes be asking for me to do it for some time and i keep prioritizing other stuff ahead of it but its time to cross it off the list. I picked up the topsoil and mulch already and now its flower time. I tried to put it on her but i am also looking for suggestions as she will want my input too.

Medium sun, georgia heat, can be watered regularly as the irrigation has no problem hitting that area. We have azaleas and hydrangeas and are looking for something a bit different but that will flower and fill out pretty good. I'm thinking rhododendrons but am open to other suggestions.

Any help will be appreciated. Plan on going to the nursery tonight to pick shit up. :cert:

Did you want another flowering bush or are you open to other stuff? I'm not sure I'll be a great help because I live up here in New England but I'm trying to remember what I've seen in SC, FL, etc.

She wants color.. Purple, red, pink, etc.. Also has to be a bush to fill in an area. Somthing that will get at least 3+ ft high and fill out bit.

I want to sit on my ass.

Gardenias are nice and smell good, Weigela are pretty, and Camellia are always nice too.

Thanks for the suggestions Rob.

We are in a similar climate.. How do these three tend to do? Do you have any? I saw some Gardenias at HD the other day that i thought looked nice and could be an option.

Gardenias get pretty big over time so plant them behind anything you want low in the garden.

Space filler on a large island between my property and my neighbors. Kinda want it big and colorful in a sense..

The island is probably a good 25' x 30' on both my and their property. Their side looks better than ours (for now).

Can't go wrong with hostas, either. Virtually no-maintenance and they thrive in shade or partial sun, too.

Wifes be asking...

How many wifes you got?

I don't plant flowers but have plenty. They grow like weeds. Some are wild, others planted by previous owners.

Try some roses. Many different varieties available and they look great in vases around the house. Nice fragrance, too. I grow roses and it's created a side hobby of collecting bud vases. Nothing elaborate or expensive, just gives me an excuse to stop at garage sales and thrift shops.

I know a guy who takes his Pink Flamingoes when he goes camping and sets them up around his campsite.

Roses will bloom from April through November and provide lots of color. I fertilize with Miracle Grow for Roses every couple of weeks and they do really well.

Cannibas grows well in GA as long as you keep it well watered and fertilized. Plus, at the end of the growing season....watch out!!!:D However, your wife may not like that look and you'll be back to flowers.:leaving:
