Removing heater/ac?

the engine in my 84 is apart after I found coolant in my oil.
Long story short, to remove the head, I pulled my compressor.
The compressor had a broken vavle, and there was no gas in it when I removed it...

So what would I gain by removing the whole hvac system?

In a C4? I just roll the windows down

you'd gain weight savings and easier access to parts of the engine bay.
