Hey, me awaits... taint seen it yet. Just got a new State Of The Art theater in town and no way am I going anywhere near that place on a weekend.

I will say this... it isn't reviewing too well so far..

:sadangel: I have seen that. But do not give much credit to the normal reviews. And I agree. You could not get me near a theater right now. :cert:

I'm curious. Director Andrew Stanton is a helluva good story guy and he claims to have been a ERB fan all his life. I'm looking to see how he does as a live action and CG vs animation.

Went last night. IMAX 3D. Wow.

I thought it was terrific. Obviously, I'm not a movie critic, cause they hated it but I thought it was well done and good representation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' stories.

I think one of the reasons it's not gotten great reviews is there's a lot of stuff you've seen before. But the reason you've seen it before - in Star Wars, in Gladiator, in a dozen other movies is because ERB wrote this story arc decades ago and screenwriters have been stealing them for years.

I thought the CG was well done, the chick is very easy to watch and for once in Hollywood movie a Confederate soldier isn't a barbaric oaf or a cartoon. There are a couple of big holes in the plot, but hey if you can suspend disbelief to get a guy from 1880s America to Mars, with a high speed alien bulldog and a 9 foot green sidekick with 4 arms, a few small inconsistencies aren't that big a deal.

Take popcorn.
