ah the good old days...when drivers would stay at local hotels...now they all hide in their haulers and complain about how long the season is (36 races, only 2 weeks off)...wah, wah, wah.....don't like that kind of work, go run the loom in the towel factory, or stock the shelves at the Piggly Wiggly, or any other job that your fans do every week without fail.
and all those meetings with the sponsors.....:slap:

And Kryle Busch gets all the hype.:puke:

I can honestly remember going to the July race in Daytona back in the 70's as a kid. You would walk into or be in a local restaurant and have people like Richard Petty, at the table beside you. Drivers staying at the same hotel with their family, etc...These super millionaire, elitist, corporate spokespeople, that drive the cars today. I can't identity with or have anything in common.
Guess I am like that Hank William's Jr. song - Dinosaur.

Yup. NASCAR is yuppie racing now. At Baltimore GP last year, wife and I sat by Dario Franchitti at a local bistro across from the track at night.

not sure about the yuppie part, but it seems like the drivers all always have something better to do than to mix with the fans...you know, the people that ultimately pay the bills (either via tickets or by buying stuff from sponsors).
it's like they feel they are entitled, that they don't have to keep a connection to the paying fan, just keep the team owner mostly happy, keep the main sponsor happy, and spend their off hours visiting sponsor locations or driving exotic cars at high speeds.
i bet fewer than 4 of them even know how to turn a wrench on the car they drive. just hop in, drive it, complain about it, and then whine about their busy life. :slap:

For Dover, tickets were $100 a piece. Parking another $25, concessions slightly less expensive than FEDEX, so all told, for the wife and I about $300. Add some kids and double that. Yuppie prices. :yesnod:

The grand marshal for todays race...was that Suh? The same Suh, that stomped a guys arm during a Thanksgiving Day football game?
Yep.

Same goes for FOX and that stupid animated rat they use. Twitter this, tweet that jack ass. I won't watch that crap, and I'm pretty fvcking sick of the stupid as Cleetus BS they got for football too. I'd like to see NFL and NASCAR dump FOX. Keep up the kiddie stuff, and keep wondering why you're losing viewers.

I want to know who dreamed up those ideas and sold it to Fox and the NFL. That way, I'll hire him/her to sell my widget and retire to the fleet of exotic cars and Gulf Stream G450.
That's like selling heaters in August to Iraqis, I tell ya.

I would be more then willing to take their job driving, having two weeks off wouldn't bother me

:iagree: People reading twitter all day are probably not the target market for NASCAR on broadcast network TV.

all of their twitter talk this season is annoying, it seems like they just found out what it is and are going crazy with it.
