A guy posted this on another forum where everyone is showing their "old" snow removal equipment.

Here's my contribution, assuming that an '83 Chevy one-ton qualifies in some borderline category of Arn. It has a 454 under the hood and a 350 mounted in the bed, driving a hydraulic pump that in turn powers the blower via a hydraulic motor. I, having a minimal semblance of judgement, did not build this thing. We live in an area with no guvmint snow removal and after a particularly hard winter a neighbor had it built. Long story, but he moved away and I eventually became the proud owner of what he called the Snow Monster.

I took possession last year, and so far have not needed to use it.

:yesnod: 454 powers the truck itself while a 350 mounted in the bed powers a hydraulic pump that runs the snowblower :cool1:

My neighbor has something similar on his Ford tractor......There have been times when it was really useful, as opposed to a pickup mounted plow.

If is south in the mountains he will need it.

That would be great here in NH for normal winter. After a few storms the plows cant handle the drifts. That thing would blow the snow clear into the woods.

In Montreal area, the "plow guys" use the snow blowers like that to clear driveways. The cities and towns use big ass snow blowers and dump trucks to clean the streets.

I should tell my plow guy about that and suggest he get one for next year. I'm getting pissed that he's destroying my ****ing lawn.
