My daughter spent the entire day out at the track helping out the club, shagging cones, working, etc.
For her, the highlight of her day, was to come home and change the tires on the black Vette.
She did all four corners herself. :seasix:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/Datawiz/Off%20Topic/IMAG0284.jpg
Because the tires are heavy, I taught her to use her legs to "squeeze" the tires higher to get them mounted.

Notice the dirt mustache and dirty forehead. :hurray:

Like I said, changing the tires is what she looked forward to the entire day. We have a track rat in the making. :yesnod:

Had to change that. Now, I'm printing 100 course maps for the drivers tomorrow. Had to make a few cone changes, as the course needed fixing. Busy, busy, but the type-o was pretty silly.

She really wants to take a driving school, I taught her how to heel/toe when I was teaching her to to drive her manual BMW. She knows how to handle and judge an apex. I just want her to be able to handle any situation and hope that she gets to compete in something. Hope by the end of the year that I will have a job that will let me send her to either VIR or Road Atlanta where I went. :yesnod:

As an adopted child, all I wanted was a son. We were only blessed with one child, yet, with a girl, I still got the son I always wanted.
My daughter and I are incredibly close. We ride bikes 6 miles every day at 5am, she's a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and she is UBER into cars. She wants to wrench on them. She could drive the Z06 (stick shift) at age 11. :hurray:

All of her female classmates think she's odd. She's not a girly-girl. She LOVES Ninja Turtles, has a Ninja Turtle lunch box, has cars plastered all over her "Friday Folder", talks about cars all of the time, wants a Koenigsegg Agera (yes, I had to look up the spelling...again)

And yet, when she shows up for a school dance, all dressed up, their jaws always drop. She's a hot ticket when she cleans up, but she prefers to be in shorts and t-shirts getting dirty. She doesn't care about being plastered with makeup during school and trying to act pretty. She is, and can be when she needs to be, but it's not her focus. :yesnod:

This issue does not need repairing right now, but it's the same thing we've seen before. Eventually, more holes will get busted out and the liner will need replacing.

My wife tolerates the racing and occasionally will come out to drive the automatic Corvette. She IS jealous of my relationship with my daughter vs. hers. Guess who invested more time over the past 13 years developing that relationship? :shots:

When she reaches those age ranges, she'll just kick the crap outta any guys that threatens her. She's lethal with her Ninja skills. I say that tongue-n-cheek because Ninja is Japanese and Tae Kwon Do is Korean, but she is well trained and practices her art constantly. She easily puts a hurting on me with a joint lock to the wrist and I'm nearly 300 pounds. :yesnod:

A few months ago, out of the blue, my little short daughter calls, asking how to change the serp belt on her Subaru....me knowing nothing of the car, ask about the basics of it's construction, and so to figger out what wrench to use to release the tensioner, and to follow the exact routing of the belt....several phone calls later she sends me a cphone pix of her little greasy paw a.. grins that it was finally done, saving her some fairly major bux.....
at one point she had called some years ago, about how to plug a tire,.....
I sent her to the parts store to get a kit, and specifically asked about the position of the nail, and so it seemed good to me, and so she plugged it herself instead of some tire store rip off trying to sell her 4 new tires....seriously...because it's AWD and some such bullshit....

He just doesn't have the desire. He got cut off when he was learning to drive, think it kind of spooked. He will drive to school but I honestly don't think he's driven more than a 15 mile ride .
Worse thing would be to force him...hopefully as he gets more seat he will get more comfortable behind the wheel.
