Ok. Need some help from the world-traveled Vette Barners on here.

I've been learning some Tagalog, mostly to impress my new Filipina GF. It damned sure seems to be working so far. :yesnod: :smash:

The problem is, I'm getting bored with all the normal, non-dirty words I'm learning. I figure to be fluent, I need to know at least a few words from the streets of the PI.

What are some dirty words in Tagalog? The ones that they don't provide on the translation websites, please.

Slang for body parts, quasi-normal sex acts, etc... post 'em up in this thread.

If it's too dirty to be posted in VBOT, you can send me a PM. Let's not Petew1971-up this thread and get it moved behind the barn in just twenty posts, please.

I've already got that one, and the usual non-dirty ones. We've moved on from there at this point. :seasix:

The only one I know is Tang ina. which means mother f er.
Do not pronounce the tang like the drink astronauts drink, sound the "a" like you would when you say ah.
With ina pronounce it like e-na.
It works best when you yell it at cabbies when they try to rip you off.:slap:

FWIW, most cursing is slang. If you're not fluent in a language, you can come off sounding like a putz trying to swear. Jus' saying'

If you really want to impress her, lick your eyebrows.

 and :cert:

So are you suggesting I give up trying to learn Tagalog? I've read that it can be better for americans to not learn it.

Yes you CAN learn it.. :seasix:

But all the vowels are pronounced differently :yesnod:

We use another language in the south here called Bisaya, but a lot of the words are the same as Tagalaog.

I know how they sounds but.... My problem is spelling the words :confused5:

I confirmed it with my filipina gf and she recognized it.:dunno:

I have also used it in front of a couple of filipinas in Manila and they confirmed it too. Maybe it's a Luzon term and not used near Cebu.

I'll ask her for some more.

I think it may depend on where the OP's gf is from since so many languages are spoken in the Philippines.

:yesnod:

My wife understands Tagalog as most TV shows are all Tagalog, but will admit it is not her first language..

So asking her probably was not the best idea since she is a bit naive anyways.. :)

So I also just asked her Sis, then her Mom, and finally Mike, a cousin that was standing outside to help me with it.

He does not recognize it either, so I asked how would you say it in Bisaya, he just said "Ambot" which means he don't know either :bilmem:

http://freeshopmanual.com/uploads/photos/Ambot.JPG

It could be a Luzon term as you said..

In Cebuano the word for sex is JerJer..

Isn't your GF a Cebuana?

I think we figured it out though.. "putang ina mo" is what she probably told you.. :seasix:

Beats me but you are right, there are a lot of different words for different islands.

On our island a lot of words are even different than Cebuano, I have had to learn quite a few words in Tagalog, Cebuano, and also the Bantayan dialect, so gets a bit confusing at times.

Also, just on our small island there are three towns, and sometimes a word changes from one town to the next.. but they all know and can understand each other. :yesnod:

What I know myself is bad a mix of Tagalog, Cebuano,, and Bantayan, so sometimes when I am talking to people in Cebu, I think I have it right, and then I find out the word I knew was not Cebuano but Bantayan only :confused5:
