Not real recent, back in 96 we split the $186 filing fee. He was military so we had access to military attorneys.

I was soooo lucky during my divorce.

The lawyer was a long time friend of my dads; all I had to pay was the court fees.

At the time of the hearing, I was still in the hospital recovering from a kidney transplant. I wasn't able to go to court at that time.
I could of asked for alimony from her; but didn't.

1.5 years later -while Yvonne and I were dating - I had to sue my ex-wife because she didn't live up to the divorce agreement. The judge that heard our case??? was the same one that granted our divorce! He read my ex the riot act :D. The very next day she returned all my property.

I asked Yvonne (who was living with me then) to stay away from the ex's visit - returning the property.

Of course she couldn't resist, and walked into the garage when unloading; and the dirty look my first wife gave Yvonne...

Mine was $1500 about 20 years ago but in the long run it cost me WAAAAAY more than that. I remember meeting her to pick up my son a year after it was final. He got out of her new Jaguar and into my beat up used pickup.

Expensive lawyers are worth it.
