Anyone get to watch the special on ABC news the other night? The report was done mostly inside a Fox-conn /Apple factory in China. It was showing how the units are assembled, working conditions on the assembly line, and safety measures the company's taken to stop employee from jump out windows to there deaths.
Showed how the employees live and eat on the factory site (wow 12 hour days, 2 meal breaks of 1 hour each with a cost of .70 cents a meal that included soup, rice & little meat). I may of missed how many days a week they work in the factory. Its all non - union and one worker won't speak to the person next to them for the whole shift (no small talk at all).
They showed the living areas 7 bunks to room for $17 a week in the factory (no visitors and no storage area i could see anyway). They are given a area to exercise, and didn't see any equipment just a grassy field to do yoga. It also showed what looked like a train station. This was were those looking for a job would come and wait (squeeze) till the factory decides to take possible new hires. The report said 80% that day got hired (looked like maybe a 1000 -1500 were there suit cases in hand all with one thing on there mind: a job that payed about $1.78 Per-Hour.
