NBC has ordered 13 episodes of Hannibal, a series based on the characters created by Thomas Harris in the 1981 novel Red Dragon. The series will focus on FBI agent Will Graham and serial human flesh chef Dr. Hannibal Lector early in their relationship.

The show is being headed by Bryan (Pushing Daisies) Fuller, who is also putting together the Munsters update, which is now titled Mockingbird Lane, the title being a reference to the home address of the monstrous family, 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

We'll likely be seeing Hannibal first, as NBC recently announced it was pushing back production of the Mockingbird pilot to give the writers time to polish the teleplay.

No casting has been announced for either show as of yet.

NBC is going to be a strange and scary place this fall...

Well, they had "Fear Itself" back in 2008. The series tanked, but I liked that horror/anthology/suspense joint, personally.

I don't have much hope-since it's on network TV.

No. Showtime first, then on CBS, edited for content and time.
