Me only once...40 years ago. I woke up as a vent-assisted quad, was paralyzed for 4-1/2 days. Technology has improved since them...I think.

Our daughter is a med school professor, specialing in Spinal Cord Injuries...she has been a wonderful consultant!

that's great that your daughter is so knowledgeable
my daughters doctor specializes in Spinal Cord Injuries. too, at Princeton University...all he does is operate on peoples spines. The only problem is that there is only so much the man can do with ruptured discs that just keep rupturing :sadangel: He's planning to fuse 3 vertebrae in May :(

After picking up 85% of the total costs of getting there, she is comping us.

She did say she would never examine any part of me between my waist and my knees...I told her that, until I was 70 or so, that was the only stuff likely to break down. Her comment: "Sucks to be a guy!"

My wife will have a single level fusion...she has severe spinal stenosis and a grade 2 spondylolisthesis. We're hopeful things go well. Our daughter has reviewed the MRIs, CAT scans, films, notes, proposed procedure...so

I think that's what I have, with a extra vertebrae in the lombar, I think supposed to have 5 and I got 6, found it out long about age 18, it's the reason the Army cashiered my ass in '66.....

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for the amazing body you have given us. You know Harry's wife is going in the hospital for delicate spinal surgery.

We're asking for you to calm her heart as she gets prepped. Guide the surgeon’s hands to be steady and effective to do the job they need to do, and not create any further damage.

We rebuke any infection or complications. Calm the hearts of Harry’s family. Give his wife your peace so her body can heal under the best conditions.

In the name of Jesus, bless Harry's wife to be healthier after this procedure than she was before. Lord, let this temporary trial bring this family closer to you and to each other.

The value of life and family should never be taken for granted and may your healing power affect every area in question. Let every moment from this day forward be cherished the way it should be.

When Harry's wife comes out of surgery, let the side effects from the trauma and the medicines be minimal. Work a miracle in this whole situation and bless it from beginning to the end.

Thank you for your blessings on this family. We praise you as we know we're in good hands, the very hands of our God and Lord and Savior.

In Jesus name, we thank you. Amen.
