Frozen water droplets are falling from the sky. I think it's called sleet. Should I go to the store for milk and bread?

too late.

dress in bikini, run up and down street, yelling now and then, first person to open door, enter therein, steal what you need, scurry home.

No, just hang out there for a while and soon one of your neighbors who did go to the store for milk and bread will probably crash their car into a tree near your house on their way home, then you can simply go out there and take it from the crumpled wreck after the ambulance takes them away.

A few problems with your suggestion:
1. past bikini age.
2. live on a major highway.
3. MIL lives next door. No other neighbors.
4. I have a key to MIL's house.
Thank you anyway!

No neighbors!

MIL doesn't drive and the world is a safer place without her on the road!

now look, you are making this panic thing overly complicated. :toetap:

pack up the gang, drive to nearest wallymart. live in the sporting goods department for the next week or so. most have some food supplies, as well as public restrooms. the roof usually does not leak, and the heat is kept on all year long.

All that stuff is so 20th century. It's 2012. Get a tattoo to commemorate the occasion.
