We needed some fronts for the C5 so I started searching all of the online tire places. TireRack, Discount Tire Direct and a few other places.

I found one place that was significantly cheaper than TR...it was Discount Wheel Warehouse...but the reviews on them were enough to scare me away. While searching their reviews I found a post on a Toyota Forum (I think) that was from Discount Tire Direct and they said they'd beat any online advertised price including the shipping charge.

I filled out the form last night (Sunday) with the link to DWW and the pricing and just got off the phone from DTD.

TR price shipped; $501.71
DWW price shipped; $458.18
DTD price shipped; $450.49

So a little less than $8 saved, but I was surprised they stood up to their word. They are shipping from Ohio so they should be here in no time. He even beat the price with sales tax.

The tires were Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP...we put two rears on last season so they only have about 3k miles on them.

Reviews on DTD look a lot more stellar from ResellerRatings than DWW. So if you need tires check them out. I'll report back to when I receive them to insure all went okay...its the first time I've dealt with them. Last time I dealt with TR and it was a great experience...but $50 is $50.

I bought a set of tires for my winter beater Toyota Camry from Discount Tires Direct about three years ago. I was very satisfied with them.

I also found the same thing last year and ordered from DTD. They don't gouge on shipping, the price includes shipping. I won't even cross shop TR now.

I won't even cross shop TR now.

I find I have to mix it up to get the best price. DTD had the best price for my Camry, while TR had the best price for my Vette.

And installation? At $40 bones a set (plus lifetime free rotation) no one can beat Walmart!

Well the whole reason we needed these is because the Vette is seriously out of line or we just need to dial back the camber...luckily our preferred Chevy dealership has a Corvette Tech that actually has 2 Corvettes...we've taken it there before and its in good hands.

So as soon as the weather turns better...I'll take it up there get the tires installed and have it aligned and adjusted.

This is after 17k miles;

I have used Discount Tires, Wheels & ATV | Treadepot.com (http://www.treaddepot.com) a couple of times. Very easy transactions...Getting the tires mounted were a bit of a hassle, but got it worked out. Who knew that the dealership would be cheapest??!!
