Every year the owner of a large construction company ( hk group ) has an antique wood cutting demonstration / show at his home. It's free to the public and was pretty cool.
They has a team of oxen dragging logs out of the woods for the guys to cut up. These guys didn't strain at all with the log, it looked like they were dragging a broom stick.

True gentle giants. They would lower their heads for the kids to pet them. :seasix:
This is an Economy hit and miss engine, 7 hp made in 1915/1916 and ordered exactly as seen here from the Sears catalog. You placed your order and picked it up at the local train station.

It has the optional flywheel clutch on it ( instead of a pulley bolted directly to the flywheel )

There was also a larger Economy ( 9 or 10 hp ) there too

This one didn't have the saw buck attached to the carriage, it had a separate saw.

They also has some two man chainsaws. The closest one has a 5' bar on it and chewed thru a 30" log in under a minute with two very cautious persons using it.
