Health Officials In Washington State Are Investigating Reports Of Intestinal Illness

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Health officials in Washington state are investigating reports of intestinal illness among 19 cheerleading squads that participated in a tournament in Everett over the weekend.
The state Health Department says symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea. A local TV station (KOMO-TV) says several people have been hospitalized.
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association hosted Saturday's competition at Comcast Arena. More than 3,000 people attended and more than 1,000 people in 52 squads competed.
KOMO-TV reports that there have also been students with symptoms at Puget Sound-area high schools.
