Hoped in the cart tonight and a battery exploded as soon as I hit the gas. Glad there was a seat to protect me from the acid that went all over.

Sounded like a shotgun went off. I didn't know they could blow like that.

Looks like I'll be buying new batteries this week.

Did you have it on a charger? I've seen batteries explode several times. A couple times in auto shop in the sixties, and once in a friend's garage. They were hooked up to chargers without the caps being loosened. This was back when all batteries had screw-on caps.

Take a pic of the batteries (for cable routing). Take all batteries to auto store and have them checked. Next check all wiring for corrosion or loose connections. Baking soda and water will nuetralize the acid that exploded everywhere.

I had that happen on a motorcycle. The battery case cracked and it ran low on acid. Fired it up one night and the accumulated gasses exploded, right under my ass! :willy:

Actually it had been off the charger for a few days. It rained yesterday and I drove it over to the neighbors house for lunch. Last night when I got in it, I turned the key and stepped on the gas and got an immediate BOOM.

Lucky for me it just blew the top off, the sides are still intact and most of the acid was still in the battery.

New batteries will be here in an hour, $700 installed.

Good lord guys, he didn't say ANYTHING about politics in this thread. Give it a break, if you want to attack Phil on his political view, he (shockingly) still goes over to PR&C.

This is Off Topic, the place where we can bitch about our rich people problems.

Phil,

Do you think the batteries failing had anything to do with your upgraded motors?

That's the problem, you stepped on the GAS, if you had stepped on the accelerator would been no problem, why you store gas near the cart for??

You were very lucky, Phil. Not kidding. I wouldn't wish that shit on anybody.

Take better care, please. You have so very much to teach me. I have so very much to learn.

Good lord guy; have you forgotten about tongue-in-cheek comments, where the poster goes out of their way to make it known... by including a smiley face :) ?

How many miles you put on that thing a year? I would think walking or bike riding would be more convenient. But then with the Florida sun and rain...

Sea, really?

Ok, ok.

Maybe I'm a tad over eager about my newfound Progressive liberal ideology.

I'll try to throttle it back a smidgen.

When I start thinking about how we can give free stuff to everybody, I just get all excited. Sometimes I even wet my pants a little.
