good for that boy, for handling the situation!! :hurray:
my daughter was bullied unmercifully when she was in the 7th and 8th grades, because she was chubby, to the point of receiving death threats...
ten years ago, nobody paid attention to kids that got bullied....
I took care of it :seasix:
Looks like that little punk just what he had coming. Too bad for the big kid though...Hate to see self defense punished. Little guy probably will think twice before fking with someone else again!

Back in freshman year of high school I shared a locker with a kid who was TORMENTED by some of our classmates. The bullies would walk by him and punch him in the arm, stomach, cuff him upside the head, whatever. They were really tough on this kid who was somewhat small in stature and a bit of a geek. The bullies were all jocks. They were popular kids, so nobody ever stepped in.
At one point in all this abuse, they approached me for access to his belongings in his locker. I remember being conflicted about this. I knew they were going to screw with this kids stuff, and I knew if I didn't let them in, I was next. So, I went home with my dilemma and told my dad about the situation.
He asked me one question; "Is what they are doing to this kid right?" Of course I knew the answer.
A week later they approached me for his belongings again. I refused. "You're next" one of them said. I was afraid and pissed off all at the same time. I hauled off and smashed the closest guy to me in the face as hard as I could. He dropped like a sack of shit.
As with all school fights, it was over in an instant. I got detention for a MONTH of Saturdays. I figured I was in a heap of trouble at home too. Not so. My mom was pissed, but my dad wasn't.
They left my lockermate alone after that. Naturally I heard "We" are coming for you. It never did, and the kid who was bullied transferred out of the school at the end of the year.
I fukin' HATE bullies.

Most bullies back the fk off once the victim stands up to him/them. I had one as a kid that backed off once I stood up to him. He never messed with me again, and he ended up turning out a pretty decent guy. Never a punch thrown on my end.

three years ago (her junior year), my younger daughter transferred to a different highschool and participated in a club for transplanted students...
she befriended a girl from Tennessee. The girl from Tennessee was bullied and teased and just generally given a hard time, because SHE HAD A SOUTHERN ACCENT!!! :willy::willy:
well, one day this girl from Tennessee was piled on during gym class and was being choked (the teachers didn't give a crap, and looked the other way)...My daughter stepped in, hauled off and punched the girl that was doing the choking, right in the face...My daughter was suspended for 5 days...she probably saved the girls life...I thought she did the right thing :dunno:

More than likely, they get it from their home life. Too many kids are controlled by fear from their parents. The outlet is to try and control their peers.

Either you be bullied, or you are the bully.

I graduated HS in '78. The teachers (most) would let you fight ( but not in the classroom ) to "work things out". A lot of small problems were kept from growing by this simple approach.
There was a small irish guy, Dave, who got picked on from time to time. One day he snapped and him and the bully went at it. Neither really won the fight but he never had a problem after that.

Dave did good, he didn't give up. He earned a lot of respect that day.
The area I grew up used to be Mennonite farming area. The town kids would always pick on the farm kids. I never understood that, they worked hard on the farm during chores. Being the Mennonites are brought up to be passive, I guess they thought they could get away with it.

Bullies suck. My son was bullied all through elementary school and again last year. It has finally stopped this year but only because he is now the tallest kid in his class, worked out for the past year building decent muscle mass and we told him never to swing first but to defend himself or others who are being bullied. There was a confrontation. He took care of himself. There were consequences. We complied with the consequences but stood behind our son 100%.

Jr Hi school, a really 'stacked' gal name of Charlene, and all the guys wanted her, and so in a tight skirt she looked just FINE, so we used to take thumbtacks to the girls seats in class, just place it so their butt would get bit a little, somehow I had the small sewing pin, type with a head on it....the guys egged me on to stick Charlene in the butt.....so I did, she turned around while dropping her books, and ROUND HOUSED me with full body weight tossing my back into the crowd of guys behind me.....
lesson learned, don't mess with Charlene, it maybe her time of the month....
:hurray::kimblair:
NOW we go to Mike the HS football tackle, he was in on every play and used to bully me during one year....in summer school he caught ME on the rag, and so I just flattened him outta his seat/desk, summer school detention hall for the rest of my life.....
so about '74 or so, when moving into my high rise apartment, I run into him on the street, he driving a broken down old station wagon full of screaming brats, me, my convertible full of moving shit, and so we talked, but I could tell he was a miserable SOB......seeing me with a cool car and a divorce with no kids, he was pissed....

The problem today is everyone is lawsuit happy.
I still cant believe it never happened to me.
It always seems to be the bullies parents that start threatening, especially the first time someone stands up to their shitty kid. My folks were threatened with a lawsuit on several occasions.
Most of the time the apple doesn't fall too far. Dickhead parents raise dickhead kids. Fact.:yesnod:

For me it had nothing to do with my parents.
I grew up in an above income class household with a stay at home mother and a hard working father. They were not aware of my shenanigans.
Bullying 20 years ago was a lot more tame then it is today.
There were a lot of kids on my street(20-30) and I belonged to the wrong group.
I'll be the first to admit it was a shitty thing to behave that way and if I had ever had the sense knocked into me by someone things may have been different. I was picked on because I was passive and decided I would things to change.
Thankfully nothing severe ever came out of it to either the kids we picked on or myself.

I got into a fight, which really didn't have to do with bullying.
I was hit first and reacted.
I punched the kid in the temple and knocked him out.
He was out cold on the ground for a few minutes and I thought he was dead.
When he got up he ran off.
It was enough that I kept my mits to myself from then on until I was older.

I was the 'biggest kid' all my life, so nobody picked on me, except for one fool who attacked me from behind.....I just got him with one hand around his throat and made him say he was sorry! But he couldn't speak because he was turning blue so I let him go! http://s5.tinypic.com/e5ik95_th.jpg
When I played hockey with kids in my age group, the other team's parents would yell at me that I wasn't in that age group, so I had to carry my birth certificate to the games.
"Don't you hurt my little Johnny"....hahaha!:D
