View Full Version : Skia **Update**
For those that GAS and those that don't. We were losing the house at the the end of Dec. if we didn't catch up 3 payments of 1313.00 each and 3 2nd mortgage payments of 600.00 each. At the last minute we were able to catch everything up and stop the foreclosure. Although we weren't able to get any bought gifts for the girls for Christmas Martha gave the girls some written things to them that were very well received. (Hand decorated art for Maddie which she loves and a book of old family recipes that Martha made for Haley) On the job front Skia made 9 sales for Dec. and all but 1 was for full MSRP or asking price in regards on used vehicles. Our house payments are made for the next 12 months and the Volvo will be paid off in Aug. Although my car was repo'd in July I hope to be getting a car though the dealership soon.
Thanks to all the support mental and monetary from us to the members of VBOT through the past year. I wish that there was more that I could do for you great guys and gals here.

I'm happy for you that the short term crisis seems to have passed. Learn from this experience going forward, though. Bad times happen, and we have to plan for them. Other than maintaining current health insurance, keeping that house ought to be job 1 for you. That house is what stands between you in your house and you living under a bridge somewhere.
So, no more second mortgages, refinancing to "cash out equity", etc. I'd concentrate on getting the home paid for, and well before the agreed upon date. This means living well below your means. You don't have anything to prove to your neighbors, us, or anyone else.
The day you actually own that house and can't lose it as long as you can scrape together the property tax, is the real day the celebration should take place.
Anyway, congrats on getting the crisis behind you.

Anyway, congrats on getting the crisis behind you.I lost my great paying position in Dec. 2008. I have been able to make both payments until the spring of thois year on what we had saved up. I didn't "cash out" to get money to blow I had a 2nd for updates on the house and to get my 2 daughters cars. I had no inkling that the markets would take the immortal shit that they did when I took it out. Unlike most people that has gotten into the shape I'm in I still have in real world terms over 200K in equity in the house and land. :yesnod:
