We're heading downtown DC-Eat at Ruth Chris and just bar hop. Of course-no driving-we'll be staying downtown. Anyone else partying?

Going to Austin (6th street) to do some bar hopping with my wife and another couple. We even managed to find a hotel on short notice, too.
And since my wife is dressing up in a tight slinky little dress, I apparetnly have to dress up for the occasion, too :funny:

 Anytime we have a party that people bring items, we always ask that they bring their favorite dish; whether it be a dessert, side, snack, etc. It's always fun because you never know what's going to show up... and if no one else likes it, they can take it home and enjoy their favorite dish. :seasix:

Whatever I do it won't involve leaving the house. I read that 1 in 9 drivers meeting you on NYE is legally drunk. I don't enjoy drinking with a bunch of overly loud, amateur drunks who throw up on me. I'll probably steam some lobsters, roast some asparagus, serve it with French bed, have a few drinks, and be in bed by 11:00. Yes, I'm old.

They wife and I will probably slip into a meat coma as others have said. The drunk drivers are here all the time since it's not enforced and that's business as usual. The biggest reason to stay home is avoiding the fireworks. The fireworks here are unregulated so they have stuff that many in the states would wet their pants to have. There's stuff available here that rivals professional stuff in the states. It sounds like a war on NYE. I've already seen mangled hands, legs, faces, etc and deaths on tv from careless handling of fireworks. Yes, they show that on the news here too.

Tonight we're going to open our Christmas presents, watch football, Jay is grilling scallops, tuna, and soft shell crab and there will be a bunch of "Small Bite" items. Oh, and lots and lots of champagne.:hurray: The big fireworks show starts @ 11:45 and goes for a half hour. It's in the next subdivision and is an amazing show. Pro quality.
Tomorrow it's black eyed peas, cabbage and corned beef.

When you have kids your life kinda revolves around em. Birthday parties, play dates, daycare, etc.. Long story short my 5 year olds best friend's parents are really cool people. So much so that my wife and i have become very friendly with her parents. My wife and the other wife have become very close and the husband and i are cool too. They are from PA and we are from NY so we bullshit alot about sports etc.. Anyway we are headed over to their place which is about a mile away for the night. Its kinda nice because we get to have a good time and the kids get to play and do their own thing too and we don't have to worry about getting home. They are having about 5 couples over us included all of which we are friendly with. It'll be a good family friendly type vibe. The smokers been going for a few hours and once it gets dark well kick up the fire pit.
It's a big change from DJ'ing in the bars/clubs back on New Years Eve when i was in NY but i wouldn't change a thing about it.:)
