Which is better? Enquiring minds need to know (soon).

We have not had Xfinity, but have had Directv since 1988 before it was Directv.
Seldom have had a problem. If we have it has been handled over the phone in most cases by very pleasant tech support people.
The couple of times we have had equipment failure, a tech was sent out with in 48 hours and only once we were without service for longer than that.
We received credit for the days the service was out as well.
The picture and HD sevice is fantastic. Service outages caused by weather are very few a year.
Normally not lasting any longer than a bad storm. :seasix:

Had Direct TV, now have Xfinity. Only one reason- comcast bundles Xfinity, broadband, and phone service together for an attractive price. Otherwise, no complaints with direct TV.

Yeah. I have the triple play, too. I wonder what would happen if I tried to split off the TV and get the satellite but keep the internet and the phone.

Then it would be the "Double Play" :D
We have Comcast double play, tv & internet.

My father has had DirecTV since 1993 and I have had it for about 6 years off and on (because of moves).
He loves his and I have never had a problem with mine either. The weather outages are pretty much a thing of the past. In the last 2 years I think mine has been off for a total of about 10 minutes.
Their customer service is much better than any cable company I have had as well.
DirecTV is MUCH better.
Let's see...
(1) Cheaper monthly bill for the full package (i.e. all channels and movie channels)
(2) NFL Ticket
(3) NBA League pass actually in HIGH DEFINITION (standard def. on Crapcast)
(4) Better customer service
(5) Fewer service issues/problems
I have Comcast right now. Can't wait to get DirecTV when I move again this summer.

Get cable for your interweb and maybe your phone and DirecTV for TV. They have some really nice new equipment available. Their new DVR has five tuners and in conjunction with whole-home DVR you can get a setup that is really slick. You can watch/record from any room to the single DVR (up to five TV's on the network), and you don't need additional receivers - just little wallet-sized control units that talk to the DVR. If you have a Samsung smart TV you don't even need those things!
Or you can have multiple DVR's/receivers and do the same thing. I have two DVR's here, and a receiver for three TV's. I can set up recordings on either DVR, balance out the load, and watch any show from any TV while recording four other programs simultaneously. They have an insane number of HD channels too.

Dumped DirectTV years ago. Couldn't keep a signal in the summer rainstorms. Very pleased with Comcast.
