While I was working in my garage, I heard what turned out to be a little sparrow flying into my picture window on my front porch.

When I found it, it was fluttering around in circles on the front steps. I was hoping it was only stunned. I put it in a cardboard box and partially covered it to give some time to gather its senses, if it was able to. Unfortunately, after an hour and a half it still was unable to rise and stand on its feet, and it's neck remained turned at a large angle.

I was pretty sure it's neck was broken, and since it was probably suffering, I made the decision to put it out of its misery. :sadangel:

I hated to do it. :(

Strangely enough, the little birds have little chance of surviving a close encounter with a window; the larger birds fare much better. You did the right thing, sad as it is. :sadangel:

You did the right thing.......Do you have stickers or anything on the picture window?

No, and thanks for reminding me. I've been meaning to do that for just this type of situation.

Rut Ro....

A bird that flies into a window foretells an important message. However, if the bird dies, or is white, this foretells death.

Same situation happened to me as a kid.....I got a shovel and whacked it hard, and wouldn't you know, it wasn't dead! I was in tears doing in the first place, and then had to do it 2 more times to finish it off.....I still remember it's tongue sticking out and eyes blinking....
