Wow...just saw that Walk Like an Egyptian came out in 1986.

I remember liking her A LOT as a kid...and 25 years later she'd still be on the list.

I agree.

Although he creatively uses multi-tracked vocals shoved through a vocoder, he also stooped to autotune on 3121, Incense and Candles, Love The Dance, The Morning After, Ol Skool Company, Hey Valentina, Never B Another Like Me,Chocolate Box, Planet Earth, and Rich Friends, off the top of my head.

Kinda' strange that he uses it. He sings perfectly in pitch and knows when he's out of tune. Autotune is for mofo's that can't sing and Prince is too good for it, IMO.

Still, as a MIDI tool, it's how you use autotune that determines its merit....or lack thereof.

Prince mostly uses it for an effect - an artistic choice, so to say - and not to hide "bad" singing like the majority of these bubble-gum assed pop clowns and rappers do nowadays.
