I have a few websites and would like to find new sources of income from the traffic that visits if possible.
Just curious what you guys are doing to make extra income with links and/or affiliates.
Right now I only use "google ad sense" and do make a little from the traffic on the side, but would sure like to do more.
Any suggestions or ideas? :bilmem:

Do a porn site.
Actually, I've wondered if TGP's do very well. All they do is present a bunch of links to pics on other sites and just live for traffic.

Stands for Thumbnail Gallery Preview.
Basically sites that are bunch of thumbs and link to pic spreads. Sometimes the thumbs take you to the pics and sometimes to another affiliated site to drive traffic.
Google "petite tgp" or "[insert fav girl type here] tgp" and you'll find tons of them. One for any fetish.
They are all free and can only live on traffic. I've wondered if they make any money.

terrific, did it get hosted yet? :D
Follow Wifeys steps and post your Wifey doing you.
Wifey has been in business for a long time. She never made a penny out of me though.

It will when it comes back up, but I still have to get the database off the harddrive.
I'm hoping once I get through the holiday I'll be straight.

I've seen them and also wondered if they make anything, I'm guessing they have an affiliate deal set up with the landing pages so they get a commission on paid sign ups.
I am also looking for new ideas of things to do, but right now just trying to find new streams of income for the existing sites and traffic.

They are popular enough that companies make software for them
TGPX - TGP/MGP Management Software (http://www.jmbsoft.com/software/tgpx/)
But then laws and adult hosting etc.

Something to look into maybe, I don't think my current host allows any sites that are going to apply for this. :D
And I know google does not allow adsense to be used on any sites that link to such sites.
There are so many ways to make money on the net, it's just hard to find the right niche.
Do you have any sites right now?
I have worked with banner ads from Commission Junction, but did not do very well with it.

Well, I run BCF (a little defunct at the moment) but never tried even going after revenue.
I also had a site for the little women that we had planned on making subscription based, like any of the model type sites. The challange there becomes keeping content fresh.
Other than that, I really haven't tried to make money with it. Which is a shame because I do web development for a living
With the web though if you don't have anything to sell it comes down to traffic, and having enough of it for ad revenue.

I knew you had the forum, and have wondered what happened to it and if it will ever be open again, I am a member there but did not post much.
With the forums it is a bit hard to keep the content clean enough for adsense as Google has so many rules.
I get over a million page views a year, so not bad for a small site, but only made about $2500 for the year from Adsense.
If a guy could do that every month, that would be a good living in the Philippines. :yesnod:
Luckily it is only a secondary income, but I hope to build it up in time with more content, and also more sites.

It will be back, though it's the longest we've been down since I "took it over". Of course I was stuborn and ran it off my home PC. When a run of bad luck with vehicles and computers dying I just backed myself into a money hole that's been slow to fix. I kinda was feeling it was time to sorta rethink camp a little anyway.
Yeah, $2500 is not bad for just adsense, but I know what you mean. It seems like if you can find the right nich it'd be easy to get risidule income going.
Mind if I ask what the site is now?

Yeah that's done with. I only meant it to be there for a little time when I thought we'd only be down for a short time. I shouldn't of let it get like it did. Oh well.

Interesting! And THANKS! :seasix:
I have heard of pay per view programs but had trouble finding legit ones, it seems like every time I found one after a little searching I would find bad reports of them for non payment.
2. CPM Advertising Networks
CPM advertising networks behave pretty much as PPC networks, except that you get paid according to the number of impressions (i.e., page views) that the ads displayed on your site will generate. CPM stands for Cost per Mille, and it refers to the cost for 1,000 impressions.
A blog that generates 100,000 page views monthly displaying an advertising banner with a $1 CPM, therefore, will earn $100 monthly.
CPM rates vary with the network, the position of the ad and the format. The better the network, the higher the CPM rate (because they have access to more advertisers). The closer you put the ad to the top of the page, the higher the CPM. The bigger the format (in terms of pixels), the higher the CPM.
You can get as low as $0,10 and as high as $10 per 1,000 impressions (more in some special cases). CPM advertising tends to work well on websites with a high page views per visitor ratio (e.g., online forums, magazines and so on).
Something like this would be great for Forums and even here at the Barn..
I will defiantly try to do this on my sites. :yesnod:
I do have a few paid ads but they only pay about $50 a year, I had no idea what they were worth so just took them up on the offer when they contacted me through email.

Not sure where you plan to host your sites at, but the hosting plan I use at Hostgator is only $9.99 a month and allows unlimited space, bandwidth and websites.
(They do have cheaper set ups for less)
For only $9.99 a month I can have as many sites as I want, and currently have a few.
My main site that is what I do for income is Carburetor-Manual.com (http://www.carburetor-manual.com)
But also have a few more sites that the only income is from the Adsense clicks, they more than pay for the hosting on their own and make a little also.
Free Shop Manual - Home (http://www.freeshopmanual.com) / Corvette-World.com - Corvette History thru Pictures (http://www.corvette-world.com)
I'm thinking about doing some content sites to help build adsense income as sub-domains so no extra yearly domain name fees.
One idea is a set of out of copyright books I found on "History of Famous People", it was copyrighted in 1900 so no copyright issues.
Putting it up will take time but won't be that hard to do as we can just scan the pages from this 12 volume set, then OCR the scans then copy paste it all into the site.
Most of the people in it I have never heard of, also have some other history type books that would fit right in, one which is the Personal Memoirs of General Ulysses S Grant.
This out of print stuff is easy to use for a site, but the problem is I have to wonder how many people would actually be interested in this information.
Also Google Adsense ads are triggered by and matched to the content and also what they can tell about the individual user from his location and whatever else they have tracked through cookies.
The ads that would show up for History stuff may be low paying ads, where as some content would attract higher paying ads, meaning you get a lot more for each click.
With my automotive type of sites, the clicks end up paying very small, usually 10 to 20 cents a click, but some clicks I have seen pay over $2 and $3 just for one click!
I wish I knew what the heck they were so I could build up more content that pays better in traffic clicks.
