Or get something built with a manual valve body and throw in some of the Lightning Rod shifters. That would be awesome looking in a not-so-awesome C4.
I eventually want to do this with my T-bucket.

It's going to be more than the motor rebuild. It also made the cd eject.

Why? He'd have the same repairs in it. C5 Corvette....he'd mod it, replace the engine, and blow the transmission a few times just the same. Except the C5 would cost twice as much to repair.

Joe, you can buy a typical 700 core for about 80 bux, and have all the parts you need, the only thing different about the vette 700 and a typical unit is the tailshaft, and the band apply servo, but you have the vette unit already, obviously....the band and a rebuild kit runs about 200 bux, the brute TORRINGTON sun shell runs about another 100 bux, converters are about 150, and the pump needs be pulled down and inspected on the aluminum next to the veins, that is where shit gets into the unit and scratches the plates up badly....
I just built a 700 for my 8000 GVW camper, put in place of the stock 350 it came with cost me a grand....and I learned something, it's considered one of the hardest trannies to build right, and I like to use TRANS GO for shift kit, nothing else....TG has been great for some decades now, they figgered out how to do it right long ago....
obviously you follow the ATSG service guide, which is a reprint of the GM manual on them, basically....
