My daughter is 8.

American Girl dolls and accessories are her big things the last few years, including this one.

That can get expensive really quickly.

My Daughter is 6 1/2 and likes shoes :confused5:

Dolls are cool also, but she likes to shop for clothes more. :bilmem:

Truth is I think she would rather have the cash to just go shopping.

I thought about cash ,but it reminds me of people being to lazy to buy gifts.

Do they believe in Santa?

If not, ask them what they want, cash to shop or let you pick.

I think it's wonderful these kids want books, when we were growing up we would stay as far away from books as possible. She does have a Kindle and I buy books for that,Dixie the Pink red Ryder bb gun is a great idea, her Dad hunts and she is a touch Tomboy. Thanks guys.

We have three girls, 12, 10 and 9. They love reading. Now, each of them will have their own Kindle. It's going to turn into a contest, which one can read the most books. I'm going to be more broke than I already am.

We're going to try the Kindle Lending Library thing and see how well that works.

Free is good.

My 7 year old daughter asked for a Football and Basketball. She also loves to read. She had the latest "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" last night, and I couldn't even get her to acknowledge my presence until she finished.

You can't go wrong with an American Girl doll - if they don't already have one, you can customize one on their site to look like whoever it's for. Will make gift buying easy for years to come with all the super cute (and durable) accessories they sell.

Some other popular toys are Littlest Pet Shops, Squinkies, Lalaloopsy, Monster High, or even the new Easy Bake Oven.

Ok, this is your chance... what you need to do is every time she opens a present that says Twilight on it, just grab it, burn it and tell her that she'll understand when she's older.

Oh, she'll complain now, but trust me, you'd be giving her the greatest gift a young girl can receive in these dark days.
