Watched the game.. very entertaining.. Never really paid much attention to Tebow or the Broncos, but I just love the fact, everyone said his style of play would never translate to the pros - I enjoy watching the so-called 'experts' eat their words...

The book says it's only b/c NFL defensive coordinators haven't figured him out yet (running QB, etc).

Here's why he won't be another Vick (starts fast, fades quick):
He's intelligent, he can read defenses, and he's learning the passing game to go along with his running capability.

It'll be interesting to see if he can measure up and win over the long term.

Of course.:iagree:

How can you judge a QB after 4-5 games?

Elway should stick to selling cars.

A good quarterback doesn't go 3/16 for 45 yards over three quarters

but...

A bad quarterback doesn't go 18/24 for 181 yards in the 4th quarter and overtime.

And he does this week in and week out.

I really have no idea what to expect out of him long term.

Without a great defense he loses all of the games.

But, in the end he's the one that's winning the games.

I've never seen anything like it.

:iagree: Althoiugh he's got a long way to go to be a proficient NFL QB, he still finds a way to win and I am lovin' every minute of it.

It's pretty simple to figure out.
He thrives under pressure.
Never seen him play or watch much football, but I would guess if you asked his teammates they would tell you he's a stud when he has to be and a great leader.

The stupid Bears decided to play prevent against a rushing QB, just like the teams before. They shouldn't have changed the D scheme that shut Teblow down the whole game. Then to top it off, dumbass Barber decides to run out of bounds when they could have taken the clock down to 20 seconds. Then the dipshit fumbles in OT. Now we have to endure another week of everyone getting wet to Tebow.

Not relevant for purposes of this discusiion...

Just like Vick being a POS isn't relevant to his QB play.

Seems pretty straight forward to me. A bad team has managed to squeak out some wins over even worse teams. Which of these victories is even remotely impressive? The Jets maybe? The rest were either against teams with losing records or teams with major issues (Palmer's first start in Oakland, Haine in Chicago, etc.)

I have no hate for Tebow. I have said it before and I'll say it again... he is a good leader, seems to be a genuinely good guy, is a good role model, etc ,but as an NFL qb, he has done absolutely nothing to impress me. Yea, he won some games. Rodgers, Brees, or Brady would have won those same games by 30.

:iagree:

The thing that is completely weird for me is what appears to be a completely different level of skill that Tebow shows when the game is on the line.

Granted, yesterday Chicago was playing prevent and he was hitting wide open receivers underneath all day long...and Barber handed the game to Denver.

But week after week Tebow spends three quarters looking like a high school backup, then something clicks and, because his defense has kept it close, he leads the offense down to get the win.

It's uncanny.

isnt denver playing new england next week? will be interesting to see how he does against playoff caliber teams. Denvers defense can only carry him for so long.

The Bears definitely had this one wrapped up. Barber literally handed this one over to the Broncos.

And you're also right that they shouldn't have changed to prevent. That was plain stupid. Who, in their right mind, does that? Especialy in Denver where kicking in the thin air allows for very long field goals. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

If he can get (and keep) his passing% up there, he's got a good shot at being more than a one-season wonder.

Admittedly, Tebow wears his faith on his sleeve and if that's his deal, fine.

How his or Vick's personal life plays into their ability to win football games, from a management perspective, shouldn't be a factor.

The only reason I throw those names out there is because to hear people talk, one would think he IS one of the elite quarterbacks. Rodgers goes lights out against the Raiders. Brees continues his ridiculous season and his assault on Marino's record by going 36/47 for 337 and 2TD in what is basically a below average game for him. Brady throws for 357 yds and 3TDs to keep himself in the race for that same record if Brees slips even a little.

Drew Brees, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers are having 3 of the best seasons by Qbs in the history of the NFL, AT THE SAME TIME...and yet here we are and here is the entire football world again talking about how amazing Tim Tebow is.

If he can get (and keep) his passing% up there, he's got a good shot at being more than a one-season wonder.

I agree that he could be a legitimate starter for a good team, but he needs to continue to improve to do it.

Well, the media get on a feeding frenzy and Tebow is the chum.

The big thing on Brees is the consecutive TD record. I really didn't think anyone would get as close (or break) Unitas' 47.

All kidding aside, the Broncos have a tremendous defense, very balanced and complete, with tremendous pass rush, very strong run defense and several of the best defensive backs in the league. They have continued to improve weak over weak and they keep the games close enough for a somewhat limited offense to grab opportunities. Despite some Demaryius Thomas heroics last week and yesterday, they have not got a first class receiver corps so that more than a few excellent passes that Tebow threw did not get hauled in, one, for example by DT that should have been a touchdown.

The Broncos are a stronger team than most give credit and, without question, Tebow is an inspiring leader of a team that plays as a team. Now I felt the need for sedation yesterday through the first 56 minutes and I was shocked by the Bears giving it away in the final two minutes. Nevertheless, Denver is a great sports town, this has been a great story and we'll, hopefully, finish 9-7 or better. If a reserve wideout named Yeshua comes up from the Taxi squad (even with the g-d nail holes he can catch) we might do better.
