I wanted another .45 and have been looking at the Kimber Pro Carry II Custom for a while. They cut me a pretty good deal so I took the plunge.

I needed a new broom so I got this too.

Thanks, but I got such a good deal on that Mossberg I couldn't say no. Any particular reason why you don't like them?

I have fired a few of them and they are very hard to control. In my opinion the money would be better spent on a full size shotgun but whatever floats your boat.....I envy you the Kimber......:)

I agree it is not a precision weapon. I have a tact light on the front rail with the infrared switch too. Purely a sweeper.

Got that covered. :seasix:
I love my other Kimber although the factory mags suck. Which reminds me, I need to order some Wilson Combat mags.

I was going to start a similar thread, but after seeing this one I'll just add mine in. I just picked up a new one today as well... I went to the other side of the spectrum from the zombie apocalypse and got a Ruger LCP to carry. Small little fugger. It fits easily in my jeans pocket (with a pocket holster). I put about 50 rounds through it and it is surprisingly accurate.

I'd like to suggest a Ruger wheel gun. Shoot it for a while and then get a trigger job.

My next handgun will definitely be a 1911.
Currently have .22/22WM Ruger Super Single Six, two S&W 9MM and a Taurus 357.
The Ruger is the most fun to shoot but I am definitly feeling a gap in the line up.

Capacity is 6 shot. You can put an extender to make it 8 but not with the tac light I have on the rail of the muzzle break/stabilizer.

I like my 500.
I like my 870.
:seasix:
I have two Mossberg 500's. One I shot often with just the pistol grip. I put the shoulder stock back on and have kept it there for 30 years.
The two people I knew who used shotguns in combat all kept theirs at home with shoulder stocks.

I have a Winchester Defender 18" with the stock. Love that gun. It is just getting a little old.

:iagree:
For clearing a ship with tight corners and narrow p-ways, you couldn't ask for anything better than a 500 with a pistol grip... which is exactly why we carried them.
In a house without the maneuverability restrictions, the shoulder stock stays on for me.

I had considered the LCP as well. My brother has one, and it is a great lil' popgun. It was between that and a Kahr CM9. I got the Kahr. It is a little bigger in size, about the same as my Phoenix HP22, but is also a 9mm versus a .380.

I plan on putting a foldable stock on one so I can have a smaller profile. Never thought of the tight space issue. Thanks :seasix:

Funny... I have owned guns most of my life and just got my first 1911A1 a few months ago (1944 Remington Rand).
I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Everybody needs a 1911. I am keeping an eye out for a deal on WWI vintage Colt, but my more realistic next one will be a Springfield loaded, parkerized. I love the old Remington Rand, but I want one that is as good to shoot as it is to look at.

It's hard to tell exactly, but the slide definitely doesn't look "stock" to me. I'm seeing groves up towards the business end, and the "hump" on the top/middle of the slide doesn't look like any that I have seen. Am I on the right track?

Odd you should mention the .44, since just a couple daze ago my old buddy from HS yet, known that man 1/2 a century already, so he calls about a pistol that was stolen outta my apt. in a high rise I noticed it gone on Christmas day '76, having moved into the joint that July....lovely....it was a S&W 8 3/8 Nickle with factory Rosewood smooth grips.....
so Ken calls and is looking for one, I said to hit the gun sites on the net, he has a small dealer putting out feelers in FW Tx.......coming up with nothing, seems they worth about a grand these daze, insurance paid off like 650 bux on my gun, it was one of 3 stolen, another one was recovered under very suspicious circumstances....:leaving::beat:
