Director gavin Hood has certainly set a tone of quality for his adaptation of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game with his choices in casting so far...
Ender Wiggen - Asa Butterfield

Currently enjoying massive artistic success as the titular character in Martin Scorsese's highly critically acclaimed, and obvious Oscar contender, Hugo, Asa is one of those rare child actors for whom the "actor" half of that label means more than the "child" half. He is probably best known for his performance as The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, a role that earned him a Best Newcomer award at the British Independent Film Awards.
Petra Arkanian - Hailee Steinfeld

If you saw last year's excellent True Grit remake, you'll know why this young lady was nominated for Best Actress/Supporting Actress for her Mattie Ross by just about everyone including the Screen Actors Guild, Broadcast Film Critics Association, British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
If you haven't, then shame on you. It is a magnificent film.
Mazer Rackham - Ben Kingsley

Kingsley, like Asa Butterfield, has just completed Scorsese's Hugo, where he plays a fictionalized version of French film pioneer Georges Méliès to critical acclaim. I do wonder if Kingsley and Butterfield were cast as a pair because of Hugo, or if this is just a coincidence.
Colonel Hyrum Graff - Harrison Ford (In Talks For Role)

Hmm, Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley are about the same age, yet Ford looks like he's got 20 years on Kingsley.
There are a few important roles yet to be cast, but IMO the film has taken a level up as a result of the casting so far.
