BUT has NOTHING to do with ANY kind of sex.....

Stepson woke up with a huge lo back pain a few months ago, he does home repair and remodeling for a R/E mgmt group ....so I figgered it for work related, he swore he felt fine the night before....doc's of course suggested surgery, he said NO, and went chiropractor instead, mucho better now....

BUT, this AM I woke up with one of our large cats sleeping next to me up against my lo back, and sure enough it's in pain, as happens from time to time all my life....so the question is....

ANY of you guys/gals have any recollection of this happening...pets putting pressure on some spot, like your back, leg, arm, and you waking up with pain??

they happen to have 3 cats and 3 dawgs....we have 2 cats and ONE dawg that is not on the bed.....once in a while we get 2 cats, but seem to always have one up there, damnit.....but it never has slept next to my lo back and caused pains before....

My cat sleeps in bed most of the nights, sometimes I'll wake in the middle of the night with his back feet pressed against my back  I've never had any back pain from it, though. He's 11 pounds, so not exactly a light-weight :cert:

All bedrooms in my house are upstairs. My dog is trained not to go upstairs unless invited by my wife or myself. Not a problem in my house.

We have a cat as well. From time to time she will lie on the bed next to her which i don't really mind. Only time its a problem is if she does it in the middle of the night and starts purring... Then she gets the boot.

You boot your wife out of bed for purring?

Actually yes, the Lab we used to have would sleep on the bed with us, always on my side, I hadnt thought about that in years, but yes, sleeping with the dog pressed up against my back made it hurt. Kind of an all over back ache.

So, my one time only observation MAY be correct, thanks....now I can call John and tell him with some more power than just a supposedly on my end....

Not gonna happen. My dogs are outside animals, and I'm HIGHLY allergic to cats (4+ on the scale!). I ain't sleepin' with the dogs. I used to have indoor dogs, but they weren't allowed on any furniture.

Mine sleeps on the bed every night, but usually curled up in a ball down by my feet. Never caused any issues at all.

On the other hand, if I doze off on the couch, he usually sees that as an opportunity to kamikaze me and do a flying leap on top... then falls asleep about 10 seconds later.
