So a buddy had acouple car fax reports left to use, so I asked him to run my '71.

The website kept kicking it back saying it didn't have enough digits. So reading into the site, they only have reports from 1981 and newer.

I had received a Car Fax report on my VR4 and loved all the info it had on it.

Is there any way to get something similar to a Car Fax for our older cars?

Thanks,

Butch

The only thing I know of is the insurance industry records but they would only have accidents that resulted in a claim. Also dealership records maybe.

So, to answer your question... No I don't really know of anything.:leaving:

Nope. There is nothing else.

I believe carfax can't go back further than 1981 which is when the current 17 digit VIN system was introduced. Older than that, you're talking about a car more than 30 years old and you're long before any computerized record systems. Any information gained by such a system would probably limited to the number of owners, and I suspect it would be iffy even at that.
