View Full Version : Christmas Pay it Forward
This being my first year for the Christmas season (or Chanukah for our Jewish brothers) in the Barn, I was wondering if we do gift exchange/pay it forward in the VBOT? I have a few things I can put up :seasix:

I don't know if I have anything left to give.
I was going to start something last week but I couldn't find anything to give away. :sadangel:

Post up your pay it forward G8rDMD and maybe they'll make this a sticky.
Oh yeah, and thanks for the oil. :D :leaving:
I'll start off with this....
Original Bat out of Hell LP album by Meat Loaf. Original from 1977, complete with outer sleeve (in relatively good shape), inner sleeve with lyrics and of course the vinyl which is is great shape. I have a ton of LPs from all different genres. If Meat ain't your thing, PM me and ask me--I may have something different :cert:

How do you play? I want to play, but need to know how first.
Do we really send something, or just post pics and WISH we could?
Rules/directions, etc. to the game please. :D

It's for real, not just fantasy :hurray: You basically post up something that you're willing to give away--for free, including free shipping. Once you've posted up an item, you are free to stalk the thread and jump on one item that you'd like for yourself. First come, first serve--usually best to post in the thread that you're taking the item and send a PM to the poster at the same time. It can be some small trinket or some expensive item, there are no limits. If you want to claim more gifts, post up more gifts :cert::cert:

Funny but my kid (22) has recently starting collecting vinyl. He has found that the sound is so much more, how shall I say, crisper.

Boy, you picked a tough one. :yesnod: I only have a couple things in orange but was able to put this bracelet together. It's a true orange, not the yellowish orange of the VOLS tho. It's all sterling silver and Swarovski crystal and has much more sparkle than the photo shows. A quick trip to my favorite store can make the entire bracelet orange. I was there last week looking for the Auburn orange.... My source for the blocks will not be here till Dec. 10th. PM me with questions please.

Complete with Utah quality photo I have the following to give for the cause...
Zippo lighter with iridescent case with C5 logo engraved. With the Zippo tin and as an extra added bonus I am throwing in an insert that can replace the original Zippo "lighter" and use butane instead of lighter fluid. The original Zippo lighter mechanism has never been used and the case is in excellent condition.
Since I gave up smoking and I really don't collect lighters, this has sat in a drawer.

I feel awful. I went up to the attic to get it, and apparently my wife went on a rampage earlier this year, cleaned out the attic, and gave it to Goodwill. I am really very sorry. 3 of walnut, 6 of maple, 3 of cherry. a close look will show that the maple ones are book matched.
here's my offer: pick 3, any 3.
i don't need much, and what i do want is beyond reasonable expectation (still saving up $$ from shop projects that sell to go shopping for a revolver in .45 caliber).

these are all 12" long, decent size for stove top use. if you'd like an extra long one (say 15" or so, let me know how long the one you have is, and i can match it), i have some wood left in the shop, and i'd make you one just for stirring iced tea (would have a little smaller spoon part if desired).
your call. if you choose this option, then the offer of 3 will still be open to someone else.

thought the deal was the offerer gives it away and covers postage?
http://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/488598-post10.html
He's offering 1 of them shipped free, but if you want more, he's asking for shipping to be covered. Nothing wrong with that, I'm sure they get pretty heavy.

Waiting for decision from C5Nate....
Sorry guys for the late response, they ran my father to the emergency room yesterday afternoon. Everything is OK, just had a pacemaker issue. Back home now.
Wow, that’s very generous of you to make a custom spoon. If not too much trouble that sounds like the way to go.
Wife measured out the spoons she use's:
18" flat spatula type for her tea picture.
14" round for her pasta/sauce spoon.
12" for whatever.
PLEASE dont go to a lot of trouble.
She would be more than happy with just the 18” flat spatula type alone, she said they are hard to find.
OR
The original 3 cheery spoons would suffice
Your call.
Thanks.
Nathan

Ok, I found a couple of things that I definitely do have. An analog video capture card. It would be good for someone who wanted to transfer some VHS tapes to digital media. I also have a wireless G card. I don't have the drivers, but I think they're easily downloadable.
Edit: found the driver disk.

Ok, well as an added bonus for your generosity, I am also including this.
Its a Bruno & Sons "Vernon" mandolin from the early 1900's. It was stored with the strings set too tight in an attic and does not play well due to warpage and the tuning pegs splitting in the headstock, but it a pretty display instrument. It may be repairable, just never had the interest.

PM me if you are interested

Kinda surprised that there is no love for the C5 Zippo?
I dont smoke but prefer a Zippo lighter when I'm out camping. The butane insert is a bonus since the only issue I've ever had with the Zippo is the fluid leaking out in your pocket or gear.
If no one else claims it, I would like to have it.

If you're going to actually use it and learn....claim it. You could P.I.F. cash money datawiz style.
I'm tempted to claim it, because it would be a great guitar to take to friends houses, outside fires, etc..., but if someone wants to learn, I want them to have dibs.

Well... if you guys are serious, I am certainly going to throw a few more things up on the thread.
1st is a 2000 Corvette brochure (?) don't know what else to call it... with the protective sleeve. The sleeve has a few scrapes on it, but the brochure itself is near perfect. It is pretty large at 15" x 7.25"

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p90/botch1980/Random/IMG_6060.jpg
Second is a piece of Daytona 500 used sheet metal from AJ Allmendinger's car (2008) in a nice little aluminum display. Would make a nice piece of garage art.

For shipping the pistol, you can legally ship all of the parts except the receiver to an individual. The receiver would legally **cough** have to go through a FFL.
