so I was going to take a few pics of the LT-5 before and after cleaning this weekend. I got the before pics done before I started rubbin on it.

I took a few "after" pics last night and the problem is my dang camera is so good the motor still looks like $#@% :nono:

I can't post from work but will late tonight, the dang flash and resolution shows all the dang areas I missed and there are a ton :toetap:

Yea no kiddin! I thought I knew an awful lot about all Corvettes, but I'm embarrassed to say that I found out a few months ago that the C4 ZR-1 had a "power key". I searched/read as much as I could on the subject!

Engine looks good from where I'm sitting.

I always thought that was a great feature. Any car with any "fun factor" should have this although I don't know how many people with a ZR-1 have let the valet park their car.

I used Adam's Revive, Detail Spray, then a little Shine/Polish. got plenty more cleaning to do but in person with no dang flash illuminating every dang smudge and speck it don't look to bad! Have actually used claybar in the past and may try to get to a few more spots with that before Waterside.

Yeah, I've embarrassed myself more than once jumping on it with the key off!!!! An additional injector per cylinder and about 10 times the air through the throttle body with the key on makes 200+ HP difference!!

Is there two keys? Ignition key and power key?

If there is two keys, is the power key removable?

Yeah the ignition is still on the column like other C4's.
The power key is on the console just under the radio and yes it is removable.

I think it defaulted to "power on" in 90 then off in other years. A lot of folks have it programed to stay on when they get work done on the motor, wish I had done that.

The throttle body blade has a little door the size of a quarter or maybe even a nickel in Normal mode and the whole blade opens in Full Power mode.

Or some wired a little micro switch in the center console to keep full power on all the time too.

Hey Tony... the heart of the beast is looking good and strong. Love that motor.

I love the look of the LT5, clean or dirty. I want one of each ZR-1s, a C4 like yours and a C6, (cyber gray)

I think it is only about 210 or 220hp without the secondary ports functional- must be what it feels like to rock an 84 crossfire:rofl:

Sweet, you should see mine now. I blew the coolant line fitting on the drivers side and soaked the motor with coolant while at Carlisle. Motor looks like crap now :slap:

Will have to get it cleaned and painted/powder coated in the future. Would love to have Aaron at SGC do a 368 package and paint it while its apart!!!!

It's only money, brother. You are only going around one time, so enjoy. :D
