Some of the people here know I've been dealing with a bad right knee for the last 20 years. Too many years racing motorcycles professionally. I've had 12 major surgeries on it. 20 months ago I had a total knee replacement that got badly infected a week after surgery and then developed a stress fracture. Last May I had to have it redone completely. This one went much better.

This morning in the drizzle my walked the my first 9 holes in over 2 years. That was one of my major rehab goals. It's a little sore now but not too bad. Next week I'm going to try to walk 18. It may not be much to you but it's HUGE to me. :hurray::hurray::hurray:

Today isn't a scoring day, it's a day of damage control. :D

Glad to hear your recovery is going well now, time will help to achieve more goals, don't give up. I can relate what you went through. I was going under the knife every two or three days for about three weeks after my accident. My outcome is different than yours but after 10 months I was able to take my first steps and haven't looked back since.

I feel for you. I went a couple of years without and ACL and MCL. It's not easy. After everything I went through having and alograph ACL replacement they threw it away when the did the total knee.

I'm a member at Piedmont and live on the 7th fairway (out of driver range). It's a great Fazio course. Let's do it! I know Sneaks is always up for it.

Got home a little early today so I threw my bag on my shoulder and walked 9 carrying. After about 7 I realized not the smartest thing I've ever done but I finished. Not too sore this evening so I guess I'm making progress. Next week, 18 with a pull cart! :yesnod:

BTW: 2 over.

Congrats. What'd you shoot?

Your still a freshman on knee surgeries. :yesnod:

This last makes 12 on just that knee - none arthroscopy. :(.

Finished 2 over with 2 birdies, a double on 8 (hooked the drive) and 2 bogies.

Yeah, mine have all been scopes to take out cartilage and meniscus. I've avoided the zippers and aftermarket parts. I've always been amazed at how much better it felt once the therapy was over and I could walk again.

And two over?

Got out of Mrs. WKMCD's way so she could get the turkey and trimmings going. Ended up at the club and.....

WALKED 18 - CARRYING!!!!!!!

First time in 2 1/2 years. Shot a 79 which was great on mushy fairways and wet greens.

My major rehab goal for this year is accomplished!

My 79 year old father plays 18 holes about 5 days a week.

He occasionally complains that he can't get his usual partners to play during light snowstorms.
He is not kidding - I have played in the rain with him.

Thanks folks. It's only about 4 1/4 miles but it was HUGE for me after almost loosing the leg to the infection and having to have the total knee completely redone after 14 months. That was 6 months ago. :hurray:
