There are some solid sellers over there. I wouldn't go near eBay unless I knew what I was doing.
Wow. The Rolex forum's off topic section doesn't allow gun, knives, or politics threads... What a novel concept... :leaving:
I wonder if they would appreciate my Caturday, OFIM, Tattoosday or Win!sday threads... :leaving:

It's a great place to discuss teh Rolex, but you gotta put on a different hat when you visit. They are light on humor over there. I've been scolded more than once for shit that nobody would look twice at here.

This is a Submariner "Two Liner." Non-date, non COSC. The date is more popular no doubt, but this is how the first Subs were. No date.

Wait outside a high end strip joint at closing time and roll a drunk.
Remember, though, it's always nice to share and you should roll enough well off drunks to get watches for all your VB peeps.

Fuk Rolex, you might score a Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, or Vacheron Constantin. The trifecta holy grail of Swiss watches.
considering that my watch needs a battery (seiko), and that such a fine piece is way out of my budget, i'll just hang here and have fun, and let those watch dudes have their fun elsewhere..... :DAB:

I think that is still the hardest Rolex to buy at MSRP at an AD and is my favorite of the modern ones.

What makes you say that? I bought a Sub off Craigslist. Met the seller at an AD, had it checked out for authenticity ($75.00) and went on my merry way.

Yep. And a two-toned, blue faced, women's datejust. I prefer the GMT as my daily wearer, I seem to be more conscious of it on my wrist and tend not to bang on things as much. :leaving:
My GMT was made before the recent switch, so it has the old case, but new movement. Tried to find out how many of the GMTs Rolex made like this, but they've kept it close to the vest.

No lug holes.
It took me awhile to even confirm whether the "anomaly" of old case/new movement was even true or not. Just had the roman numerals on the face to go by. But some guys actually cracked their's open and confirmed they were made this way:

I think lug holes went away in either the Y or K series for the GMT's and Sub's except for the 14060. I know the F series didn't have them. I don't think there is much difference in preference in lug holes in the modern ones. It's the vintage boys that get in a tizzy about lug holes and acrylic crystals and red lettering on the dials being original. And they are big on the patina being correct. I also think I probably spent way too much time in the watch forums back in the day.... :leaving:

I ain't reading all that stuff. That's way too complex for me. I'll stick to the lugs and series letters and the simple stuff...

Two tone watches don't generally hold their value nor are they as desirable as all stainless watches, but I always did like the two tone Sub with the blue dial. That would be my only concession. In GMTs and Daytonas, I definitely prefer all steel.
