Anybody from NC? - Fayetteville specifically

Looking at that area as a possible new home and wanted to get a feel for the area before we went for a visit. Anybody here from that area have any comments - good, bad, or otherwise about the area? I know Fort Bragg is in that area, but other than that, it's a blank slate.

It's called "Fayettenam" for a reason....:yesnod: Look at Triad area (Greensboro, High Point, Winston Salem) or The Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Cary)

Lots of retired Jar Heads in that area. I was stationed in Jacksonville.

Why are you thinking of moving to Fayetteville? I live in Charlotte and visit Fayetteville often for business. It is probably a great place to buy meth or get a tattoo. Also, there are a lot of good pawn shops if you are into classic S&W or Colt revolvers. :yesnod: Seriously, I always reserve time to check the gun shops when I pass through on HWY 24.

All joking aside, I really like the Sandhills area of NC. I often go for long hikes in the Sandhills Gamelands just south of Fayetteville.
