In the 80's there was some thing similar to that, a green candy full of chlorophyll and it worked so well that the cops lobbied against it and had it banned! I used to sell them at my bar.:yesnod:
I had a sandwich with onions on it the other day and my breath didn't smell. I'm going out to dinner tonight, so I'll try it with some garlic/parm shrimp and maybe a couple of beers. We shall see.:datawiz:
BTW: I think I read it was banned in certain countries a while ago. I bought a shitload of these things for stocking stuffers. Should go great with Four LOCO!:rofl:

That was gum, not candy, as I recall. Didn't know that the cops managed to get it banned. Bastards. :sadangel:
Stuff was called Clorets, right?

No, these were little dark green hard candies, each wrapped in a clear wrapper, and we sold them in a gum ball machine. I'll try and find the name out.:seasix:

It may work for your breath but after a few drinks the smell starts coming out of your pores.

Interesting, I wonder what the premise for banning it was?
Maybe the lobbyist stated it was not a "candy" but a "medicine" and needed FDA approval?

Hmm, if they start selling them in bars, buying a woman a drink will be a whole different experience :D

It might work for smells emanating from the mouth, but the smell of alcohol comes from the lungs.

and it can't alter a real BAC test. Field sobriety tests don't have to be done via a breathalyzer. Instead: "walk this straight line...".
If you fail that, they can take you in and draw blood. Most states Supreme Courts have ruled it's legal for officers to get a search warrant and force blood draws from people suspected of drunken driving.

They still have the gum. It's called a designated driver.

It's amazing how many people don't know this, too.
Then again, there are people who think that chugging a beer in front of the officer before he can test you makes you immune to a DUI charge.

Waiting for a link to the law banning said substance, candy, or gum.
Chlorophyll, by the way, isn't illegal in candy, gum, drinks, etc. Hell, it's what gives Absinthe and Green Chartreuse their green color. Try drinking those and see if the officer can't tell.
Clorets also contains a variant.
