Yep it's that time again to change your clocks and batteries in your smoke detectors and CO monitors. I don't give a fat rats azz what your excuse is just do it. I could go the rest of my life without smelling burnt flesh so get off your azz and get the batteries and just do it. BTW, it might be a good idea to check on the elderly to make sure their smoke detector batteries are changed too.

My house is hard wired with smoke detectors...but they still run on batteries..wtf. Any clue how long those batteries will last? They were all beeping when I bought the house, so I changed them all out within the last year and a half.

I look at it this way...no batteries, no issues with the damn things beeping in the middle of the friggen night. (which when all smoke detectors are programmed to die)

:seasix:

I will die from smoke inhalation (of some sort)

It'd be cool if dead batteries turned into chocolate.

Oh those batteries. Gotcha.

Well sweetie I would think you would have to change those things more frequently but whatever flips your boat.

You should change batteries every six months regardless if they are still good. Just be glad it does have a battery backup as they won't work if the power goes out.

I like the way you think

I'll wait for the annoying beep :D

You might not be around to hear the beep one time and find out the hard way. Just get off your azz and change the batteries I don't think we need anymore sadness around here from something that is preventable.

I'm elderly. Would you come check my batteries? :hi:

 Sorry sweetie I don't change pacemaker batteries.:kingpin:

It's not you we want to keep safe. It's your better half.

So change the dang batteries! :D

The thing I really hate about the smoke detectors we have....you cannot close the door on them unless there is a battery in them.

:yesnod: Just put new back up batts in the smokes and COs yesterday at the new house. Nice that they're all hard wired and daisy chained as well.

That reminds me. I actually have a battery-powered CO2 detector in the furnace room now. Forgot about that. Our smoke detector is powered by 110V and has a capacitor for when the power is out.
